Ear Conditions
Our team employs advanced techniques to address issues such as outer ear canal infections, middle ear infections, inner ear infections, ear drum perforations, otosclerosis, cholesteatoma, tinnitus, and exostoses (Surfer’s Ear), providing effective solutions tailored to each patient’s needs.
Otoplasty Surgery
Otoplasty is a surgical procedure aimed at correcting the shape, position, or proportion of the ears. It’s commonly performed to address concerns such as prominent ears (commonly referred to as “bat ears”), ears that stick out excessively, asymmetrical ears, or ears that are misshapen due to injury or congenital deformities. During otoplasty, the surgeon may reshape the cartilage of the ear, remove excess skin, or adjust the position of the ear to achieve a more balanced and natural appearance. Otoplasty is typically performed under local anesthesia, and recovery time varies depending on the extent of the procedure but usually involves minimal discomfort.
Hearing Solutions and Deafness Management
Hearing loss can profoundly impact individuals of all ages, affecting their quality of life and everyday interactions. Whether it’s sudden or progressive, unilateral or bilateral, conductive or sensorineural, our team provides thorough evaluations to determine the most appropriate course of action for each patient.
Conductive
Hearing Loss
Targeting the Root Cause
Conductive hearing loss occurs when sound waves are obstructed from reaching the inner ear. Causes may include issues such as earwax buildup, damage to the eardrum, fluid accumulation (glue ear), or injury to the tiny hearing bones. Metro ENT offers tailored treatment options, including in-office procedures, medications, or surgical interventions, to address the underlying issues and restore hearing function.
Sensorineural
Hearing Loss
Precision Treatment for Lasting Results
Sensorineural hearing loss results from damage to the inner ear or auditory nerve, impairing the translation of sound waves into electrical signals sent to the brain. This type of hearing loss, often associated with aging, requires specialized care to optimize outcomes.
Urgent Care for Sudden Hearing Loss
Sudden hearing loss demands prompt attention to maximize recovery potential. If you experience a rapid decline in hearing, it’s crucial to seek immediate assessment and intervention. Metro ENT offers urgent evaluations to determine the underlying cause and initiate appropriate treatment measures promptly.
